Account Types

Types of Accounts

Platform accounts are generally created as Trial accounts first and can later be converted to Billing accounts. The account type determines the available rights, quotas, limits, support options, and commercial conditions.
Trial Account Temporary account with usage restrictions based on either available bonus funds or a defined trial period.
Billing Account Full paid account with reduced restrictions, provider-defined pricing and quotas, and access to hosting-provider support.

Account Type Overview

New accounts are treated as trial accounts by default. Account type controls the set of available rights and quotas. A trial user who needs fewer restrictions can convert the account to billing without waiting for the trial period to finish.

Your exact quotas and restrictions are controlled by the hosting provider and platform configuration, so they can differ between providers.

Trial Account

After registration, the account receives a trial period. The trial can be limited by one of two mechanisms:

  • Money / Bonus — the account receives a defined amount of free bonus credit that can be consumed while using platform resources.
  • Time — the platform can be used free of charge for a defined period.
Trial limits: Trial accounts have additional platform restrictions compared with paid billing accounts. The exact rights and quotas depend on the provider.

What Happens When the Trial Ends?

Before the trial expires, the platform displays a notification asking the user to convert the account to a paid billing account.

  • When the trial period finishes, the account’s environments are suspended.
  • A limited period remains available for converting the account to billing.
  • If the account is not converted during the allowed period, the account can eventually be deleted.
Do not wait until expiry: If environments contain important workloads or data, upgrade the account before the trial finishes to avoid service suspension.

To cancel a trial account and request deletion, contact the hosting provider’s support team.

Billing Account

A Billing account is a full paid account. It can be activated immediately after registration or created by converting an existing Trial account, including before the trial period expires.

  • Trial-related restrictions are reduced.
  • The account receives broader platform capabilities.
  • Full support from the selected hosting provider becomes available according to that provider’s service terms.
  • Prices and quotas are determined by the hosting provider.

Account limitations and available quotas can be reviewed from the dashboard under Quotas & Pricing.

Because Application Management is offered through multiple hosting providers, the exact paid-account limits, prices, quotas, and support conditions are provider-specific.

Trial vs Billing

Feature Trial Account Billing Account
Cost model Free during the configured trial allowance Paid according to provider pricing
Main limitation Bonus-money limit or time limit Provider-defined account quotas
Platform restrictions More restrictive Restrictions are reduced
Provider support Can be limited according to provider terms Full provider support is available according to the provider’s service terms
After expiry Environments are suspended and the account may later be deleted if not upgraded Continues while the paid account remains valid and funded according to provider rules
Upgrade timing Can be converted before the trial finishes Already operates as the paid account type
Account types summary: new users generally start with a Trial account that is restricted by bonus funds or time. Converting to Billing removes many trial restrictions and activates provider-specific paid quotas, pricing, and support.
