What Is a Cloudlet?
Because Cloudlets are highly granular, the platform can assign capacity close to the actual requirements of each container. This supports usage-based pricing and reduces payment for unused resources.
Cloudlet Types
The platform provides two Cloudlet types for every server in an environment. They are configured through the Vertical Scaling per Node section of the topology wizard.
When a layer contains multiple nodes, the selected limits are applied equally to every instance in that layer.
The Dynamic Cloudlets slider defines the container’s scaling limit—the maximum number of Cloudlets that can be allocated automatically. This allows the application to handle unexpected traffic or processing spikes without manual intervention or special code.
Cloudlet Consumption Calculation
Cloudlet consumption is calculated hourly using two resource values:
- RAM: the highest memory consumption recorded during the hour.
- CPU: the average processor usage during the hour.
The platform charges the greater of the two values. RAM and CPU Cloudlet values are not added together.

In this example, the account is charged for 8 Cloudlets rather than the combined total of 14. The final cost depends on the hosting provider’s tariff and can be reviewed in the platform’s quotas and pricing information.
Consumption Tracking
The dashboard’s Usage column shows current resource consumption for the complete environment and for each layer or node.
For historical analysis, use the Statistics section to review server consumption over a selected period. Applied charges can also be checked through the account’s billing history.
