Elastic VPS Configuration

Supported Linux-based Elastic VPS types follow a similar installation and management workflow. You can create a VPS, configure vertical and horizontal scaling, manage credentials, work with files and logs from the dashboard, and use SSH for advanced administration.

Elastic VPS Installation

1Open the topology wizard

Click New Environment in the top dashboard panel.

2Select an Elastic VPS

Open the VPS section in the topology wizard and select the required VPS operating-system template.

Select the VPS template and configure its cloudlets, scaling, disk, region, and environment name.

Configure the cloudlet limits, scale the VPS horizontally if required, select a preferred region when several are available, enter the environment name, and click Create.

Public IP: Enabling any Elastic VPS type automatically attaches a public IP address to each VPS instance. If an internal-IP-only VPS is required for a special isolated architecture, the source documentation advises contacting the hosting provider.

Administration Data and Password Reset

After provisioning finishes, the VPS environment appears in the dashboard. An email notification provides the administration details, including login credentials, attached public IP, and access URL.

The public IP can also be viewed directly from the dashboard. If the administrator password is lost or needs to be changed, use the VPS node’s Reset Password action.

Elastic VPS Scaling

Elastic VPS supports both vertical and horizontal scaling. These settings can be adjusted during environment creation and later through topology configuration.

Vertical Scaling Adjust the maximum CPU and RAM capacity available to each VPS instance through cloudlet limits.
Horizontal Scaling Increase or decrease the number of VPS instances and choose how additional nodes are created.

Vertical Scaling

Automatic vertical scaling allows the platform to provide resources according to actual server load, up to the limits you configure.

Increase or decrease the maximum available resources by moving the cloudlet sliders in the Vertical Scaling per Node section.

Setting suitable vertical scaling limits helps the VPS absorb unexpected workload spikes while avoiding unnecessary permanent resource reservation.

Horizontal Scaling

Use the and + controls to decrease or increase the number of VPS servers in the environment.

Stateless Creates new nodes simultaneously from the base image template.
Stateful Creates nodes sequentially by copying the file system of the master container.

Apply changes: After modifying vertical or horizontal scaling settings, click Apply to save the topology changes.

Built-In VPS Tools

Most basic Linux VPS administration tasks can be performed directly from the dashboard with the platform’s built-in tools.

Windows VPS configuration is handled through an RDP connection rather than the Linux-oriented dashboard configuration tools described on this page.

File Manager

The built-in configuration file manager can be used to create, delete, upload, download, and edit files inside the VPS. It also supports managing mount points and exported data.

Open it by clicking the Config button next to the required VPS node or the whole VPS layer.

Log Files

VPS log files help with application troubleshooting, debugging, and monitoring the lifecycle of the virtual server and its services.

Advanced Configuration

For advanced server administration, connect to the Linux VPS through the platform SSH Gate. Web SSH can also be used from the dashboard, or you can establish a direct SSH connection using the attached public IP address.
