Packages Overview

WordPress Packages Overview

Virtuozzo Application Management provides several pre-packaged WordPress solutions designed to simplify deployment and ongoing management. Each package includes the core components required to run WordPress, such as the web server, database, cache storage where applicable, and the WordPress application itself.

Find WordPress Packages

All available WordPress solutions can be found in the platform Marketplace. Search for WordPress to display the available packages.

The platform does not add a separate fee for using these pre-packaged WordPress solutions. Billing follows the regular pay-as-you-go model for resources consumed by the installed environment.

WordPress Standalone

ArchitectureA single lightweight container with an application server, database, cache storage, and WordPress application.
Cost profileDesigned to be lightweight and cost-efficient.
Recommended forDevelopment and testing, plus small to medium-sized websites that do not require high availability or clustering.

WordPress Cluster

ArchitectureUses multiple containers for WordPress components such as the application server, database, file storage, and cache storage.
ScalabilityMuch more scalable than the standalone package.
Recommended forLarger websites and production workloads that require stronger scalability and availability.
RedundancyClustered components provide redundancy to improve uptime in production environments.

Multi-Region WordPress Packages

Multi-region variants are also available for both the Standalone and Cluster packages. These solutions deploy WordPress across multiple platform regions.

  • Improved performance — users can be served from a closer region for faster access.
  • Higher redundancy — the deployment can better tolerate a region-level failure.
Requirement: multi-region WordPress packages are available on Virtuozzo Application Management installations with at least three hardware regions.

Advanced Package Features

All WordPress packages include configuration options that can be used to further optimize and customize the installation for specific requirements. These settings are covered in the dedicated WordPress Package Features documentation.

Expected Result

Users can choose a WordPress package based on project size, availability, scalability, and regional requirements, then deploy a ready-to-use WordPress environment without manually assembling the required web, database, storage, and application components.

Important Notes

  • The platform currently documents two main WordPress packages: Standalone and Cluster.
  • WordPress Standalone is lightweight and cost-efficient but does not provide clustered high availability.
  • WordPress Cluster is intended for larger and more availability-sensitive workloads.
  • Both package types also have multi-region variants.
  • Multi-region packages require at least three hardware regions.
  • Pre-packaged WordPress solutions do not carry an extra package fee; normal consumed-resource charges apply.
  • All packages include additional configuration options for optimization and customization.
